Paws-itively helpful info

  • For a hike your dog will be picked up, enjoy a 5-mile leashed group hike, and then be dropped off at home. It's the perfect way for your dog to socialize, explore new environments, and get their exercise all in one go. Dog hiking is also a fantastic alternative to doggy daycare. With fewer dogs to care for, your dog will receive more personalized attention, and you won’t need to run errands to drop off or pick up your pup! Hikes take place in the morning with pick up between 8 and 9:30am and drop off no later than 1pm.

For walks we walk dogs in small, friendly groups to ensure every pup gets quality care while serving all our loyal clients. Walks include pick-up, a 30-minute walk, and drop-off, with two daily time slots: 12–2:30pm or 2:30–4:30pm.

  • For group hikes we bounce around different parks in the Essex County area. We always choose parks that are safe and big enough to enjoy a 5-mile hike.

Group walks take place in safe, dog-friendly neighborhoods near the homes of the clients booked that day.

  • Absolutely! We only allow friendly dogs. Plus, our hikers and walkers are very experienced. Most have a dog training background. They pay close attention to their surroundings and the dogs’ body language. Every hiker is responsible, safe, and loving!

In the van we use doggie seat belts for general safety. This also prevents dogs from crowding one another.

  • We’re proud to operate year round!

On extreme temperature days we take water breaks in the van to warm up or cool off.

If you don’t mind your dog getting wet, we don’t either. After a rainy hike we towel dry all the dogs before getting in the van. We’re also happy to dry them off when bringing them home if you leave a towel out.

Sometimes we’ll adjust our schedule because of bad weather, but we’ll always let you know. For example, if it’s going to be extremely hot we might start our morning hike early so we’re done before it’s very hot.

If the weather is excessively terrible or unsafe we will cancel and provide a full refund.

  • For dog hikes, we start picking up our group of hikers around 8:30am and have them all dropped off by 1pm. It’s the perfect way for your dog to start the day with an adventurous 5-mile hike!

We also offer group walks that are separated between early afternoon and late afternoon.

    • Early afternoon walks take place between 12:30pm and 2:30pm and are great for people with 9-5 jobs who just need their dog to stretch their legs and take a bathroom break during the day.

    • Later afternoon walks take place between 2:30pm and 4:30pm and are ideal for those in service, retail, or restaurant jobs who don’t have to leave for work until later in the morning, but don’t get home until late evening.

  • Booking is easy through our client portal! It’s right here! There’s also an app so that you can book right from your smart phone by downloading the client portal app. Just create your account and you’ll find the app!

Once you create an account you’ll navigate to “Scheduling”. Then click “New Service Request”. Then you’ll be able to request as many services as you want!

You’ll be charged once a week on the day of your first appointment for that week.

For example, if you have appointments booked for Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday you will be charged for those three appointments on Tuesday. Or let’s say you have appointments booked for Monday and Wednesday. You’ll be charged for those two appointments on Monday.

Feel free to reach out if anything is unclear. We’re happy to help!

  • Totally fine! You can cancel your appointment through the client portal.

We provide a full refund if you cancel before 7:30am on the day of your appointment. If you cancel after 7:30am the day of your appointment we are unable to provide a refund.

  • However you prefer! Some people give us a garage code. Some people give us a key. Just include access details in the “Access Instructions” in the client portal.

If you need us to pick up or drop off a house key separate from a scheduled appointment there’s a $20 cash key fee. Please call or text 908-310-0471 to schedule a key pick up/drop off. Some people hide a key before their first booking to avoid the key fee :)

  • Absolutely! This is a great option if you have dogs that aren’t good around other dogs or if you just want your dogs to have more privacy and one-on-one time.

Please call or text 908-310-0471 for private hike/walk options.

  • Of course!…but not through the client portal. Tipping culture has gotten out of control these days. We never want clients to feel pressured to tip. Clients are NEVER expected to tip and our staff is instructed to never make a client feel like they have to tip. That means we don’t have a section in the portal that asks if you want to leave a tip.

If you want to do something nice for your regular walker/hiker you can always give a tip in cash, through their Venmo, or some clients like giving gifts around the holidays. However, never feel like you have to give a tip :)
